Aint no Saint

I need to stop hating people. I have turned into a bitter, sarcastic, jaded BITCH. The mums at Tigers school are scared of me. No joke. The phone does not ring so much anymore. Part of me thinks, good ... fuck off, but then, another part of me says it's time to re-join the human race. Get over yourself already. Like attracts like. Be better.

I choose to remind myself that not all people are arseholes.

Most .... but not all.

_______

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are honest, people may try to cheat you. Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.

For, you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
~Mother Theresa

Yeah, we bloggy girls are only very small arseholes- you probably couldn't even pull a needle out of us...

TC. See, this is why you and I would get on so well.

I think I'm a bit more of a b word than is ideal, but damnit it's usually (yes they are motherfucking twins! No shit, my hands are full. Etc) well deserved.

I'm totally not a fan of MT. Beyond that though, did you read the article in TIME about her this year? She was a miserable soul!!!

I think you and I both could probably benefit from some lessons on how to be less of a bitch. But don't go acting like anyone else is all that better than us. 'Cause we bad. :)

You may be following her advice, but the honesty part is the problem. Maybe she didn't mean be honest like, "I wish you'd just fuck off and mind your own business"...

I aspire to be a better person all the time. It's part of the agenda of journey. I forgive myself (sometimes) when I fall short because no one is perfect.

People suck. In general. Individually, they're often surprisingly OK. But, like Mother Teresa said, in the long run, they don't really matter, do they?

I could use the wise words of Mother Theresa, as well. Hang in there. Like everyone else, we are here for ya hon.

It's hard, all the trying and trying and trying and whoops! I failed, better go back and try again. Enough to make you want to give up some days but you haven't, Topcat. I like the quotes. And as Dora said: we got your back, yo!

(I saw the article in Time about Mother Teresa. She had questions for God like anyone else does and she asked them. Having faith doesn't mean floating through life with a rosy view and no problems. It means wrestling with the issues in your heart and essentially, wrestling with God.)

I've heard through the grapevine that resentment is the number one offender...

Although the previous comments aren't so favorable of Mother Theresa, I love that quote. Thanks for giving me some perspective today!

I love the quote too and have been thinking about it since I read it...because dear TC,-- I"m sort of a misanthrope...or was anyway for a looooong time.

I don't hate people nearly so much anymore -- but then again I see very few people so perhaps that's what's solved the problem...

XOOX

Love,

Pam

I love the quote!

Don't be so hard on yourself. I think any one of us would have just as many issues with the world as you do.

Hell, I barely like people, and I've got damn near no reason (except for the fact that they can just be so stupid!).

:-)

I may not always like people, and I certainly don't like myself a lot of the time, but I love you, TC. <3
